Its own grid
Hialeah numbers its streets separately from Miami. Its long avenues and short cross streets form a consistent grid that fills the map from edge to edge.

Hialeah Map Poster & Print
Hialeah is laid out as a dense, regular grid, and it uses its own street-numbering system, separate from the rest of Miami-Dade County. On the map, long straight avenues and numbered streets form a tight lattice of residential blocks. The Palmetto Expressway, rail corridors and the straight lines of drainage canals interrupt it as they run across the flat terrain.
The city grew rapidly in the twentieth century. Today it has one of the highest shares of Cuban-American residents of any city in the United States, and Spanish is widely spoken in daily life. Its best-known landmark is Hialeah Park, a historic racetrack whose oval and grounds are clearly visible among the surrounding streets.
A Hialeah map poster turns this compact, orderly city into a crisp graphic: the unbroken grid, the Miami Canal slanting along its edge and the open oval of the racetrack. It works well for families with roots in the city, for anyone who has lived in Miami-Dade, and for people who like the clarity of a planned grid.

Hialeah Park
The historic racetrack occupies a large oval site on the east side of the city. Its track and grounds make a rare curved shape within the rectilinear street pattern.
Canals and expressways
The Miami Canal runs diagonally along the city's south-eastern edge. The Palmetto Expressway and other major roads slice through the grid, framing neighbourhoods in large blocks.
