Icatu Map Poster & Print
Icatu lies on the coast of Maranhão, east of São Luís, near the wide estuaries where rivers flow into the Atlantic. It is one of the older settlements in the state, founded during the early colonial period.
The land around the town is low and marked by water. Tidal channels, mangroves and river mouths shape the coastline, and the town sits on firmer ground beside the estuary. The streets are few and simple compared with the complex patterns of water surrounding them.
An Icatu map poster shows a small street network next to a much larger system of waterways. The town's short grid sits on the bank, roads lead inland toward the highway, and winding creeks and mangrove edges fill the rest of the sheet. The drawing ends up looking as much like a coastal chart as a town plan.

Mangrove channels
Tidal creeks wind through the lowlands around the town, adding fine, irregular lines that contrast with the few straight streets.
Compact old core
The historic centre is a small cluster of blocks near the water, reflecting the town's long history on the Maranhão coast.

Zakaj Icatu
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Icatu is a place with a long past and a strong relationship with water. For people from the town or from São Luís, a map of its riverbank and creeks is a personal and uncommon wall piece.
Change the title, add a subtitle and edit the coordinates line. Then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the estuary lines well.
