Man-made lakes
Irregular lakes are scattered across the neighbourhood, dug during development to drain and raise the land. They form the most distinctive feature of the map and give the community its name.

Kendale Lakes Map Poster & Print
Kendale Lakes is a residential community in western Miami-Dade County, part of the wider Kendall area that spread across former farmland and wetland in the second half of the twentieth century. The ground is almost perfectly flat, and the neighbourhood is organised within a grid of large arterial roads, each square subdivided by quieter, looping streets.
Its name describes its map. Developers dug a series of lakes during construction, both for drainage and for the fill needed to raise building sites, and the result is a suburb laced with irregular bodies of water. Many homes back directly onto them, and cul-de-sacs curl around their shores rather than running in straight lines.
A Kendale Lakes map poster turns that suburban pattern into something unexpectedly graphic. The rigid arterial grid frames the composition, the looping streets create soft curves within it, and the lakes appear as a scatter of pale shapes throughout. Toward the west, the development gives way to the edge of the Everglades lowlands.

Arterial grid
Wide, straight roads divide the area into large squares in the typical Miami-Dade pattern, providing a firm frame around the more relaxed residential streets inside.
Looping cul-de-sacs
Inside each block, streets curve and branch into cul-de-sacs that wrap around the water, producing gentle, organic linework that contrasts with the rigid outer grid.
