The Kwilu River
The river bends past the city and forms its most recognisable line. On the poster it reads as a broad pale band that divides the districts on each bank.

Kikwit Map Poster & Print
Kikwit is the main city of Kwilu province in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, set on the Kwilu River. The river is the defining feature of the map, curving past the city and separating districts on either bank, while the built-up area climbs gently away from the water across rolling ground.
The street pattern mixes more regular blocks near the older commercial centre with looser, organic neighbourhoods that have spread outward over time. Main roads leave the city toward the rest of the province and further toward Kinshasa, giving the composition several long lines that radiate from the centre.
Kikwit is an important trading hub for its region, with road and river links carrying goods from the surrounding farmland. A Kikwit map poster focuses on the essentials: the curve of the Kwilu, the network of roads and the gradual way the city fades into open country, drawn in clean black and white.

Radiating roads
Main routes lead out of Kikwit toward the rest of Kwilu and toward Kinshasa. They draw long, confident strokes that give the map a sense of movement.
Growing edges
Around the core, newer neighbourhoods follow the terrain in irregular patterns, gradually thinning into countryside. This softer edge contrasts with the denser streets of the centre.
