Lakefront industrial site
The former steelworks takes up a long stretch of the Lake Erie shore. Its large parcels, sidings and open ground contrast sharply with the city grid.

Lackawanna Map Poster & Print
Lackawanna borders Buffalo to the south and fronts Lake Erie on the west. Its map is divided almost in two. Along the lake lies the enormous site of the former Bethlehem Steel plant, once one of the largest steelworks in the world. Inland, the city settles into a close, orderly grid of streets and modest houses built for the workers who came to staff it.
The city took its name from the Lackawanna Steel Company, which moved here at the start of the twentieth century and was later absorbed by Bethlehem Steel. Steelmaking ended in the 1980s, and part of the lakefront now hosts wind turbines. Inland, the domed Our Lady of Victory Basilica, associated with Father Nelson Baker, remains the city's best-known landmark.
A Lackawanna map poster tells an industrial story through shape alone. The lakefront site shows up as broad, open blocks and rail lines, the residential streets fill the rest of the frame with a steady rhythm, and the shoreline runs down one side. For families whose history is tied to the plant or the neighbourhoods around it, it is a meaningful piece.

Worker neighbourhoods
East of the plant, streets form a close, regular grid of small blocks. They were laid out as housing for steelworkers and their families from many immigrant communities.
Basilica district
The domed Our Lady of Victory Basilica stands on Ridge Road. It and the institutions that grew up around Father Baker's work make this area a focal point of the city.

Zakaj Lackawanna
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Lackawanna holds strong ties for steelworking families and their descendants, many of whom have since moved far from Western New York. A map of the city, with the lakefront and the grid side by side, is a respectful way to honour that history. The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised.
Noir and Blueprint suit the industrial character, while Classic black & white, Paper and Sand give a softer finish. The $9 digital download has no watermark and includes six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
