Valley streets
Main roads run along the low ground between hills, so the city's plan branches like a tree, with neighbourhoods filling each valley in turn.

Lianyuan Map Poster & Print
Lianyuan is a county-level city in Loudi prefecture, in the hilly heart of Hunan province. Its name points to the source of the Lian River, and the landscape around it is one of rounded hills, narrow valleys and terraced farmland. The urban area follows the lower ground, so on the map the streets stretch along valley floors and thin out where the slopes begin.
The area has long been associated with coal mining, and the town grew as an industrial and market centre for the surrounding countryside. Newer districts with broader roads and larger blocks have extended the city outward, yet the terrain still keeps its footprint irregular, with fingers of development reaching along the valleys.
A Lianyuan map poster captures that interplay of hills and streets in fine detail. Winding river lines, clustered neighbourhoods and the blank shapes of the hills make a composition that feels closer to a landscape drawing than a city plan, well suited to anyone who grew up here or still returns each year.

River lines
Small rivers and streams wind through the urban area and its outskirts, adding soft curving lines that echo the shape of the terrain.
Hill country edges
Beyond the built-up area, hills and terraced fields surround the city on all sides, giving the poster a wide, quiet frame of countryside.
