Parallel streets
Long residential streets run side by side across the city. They make up most of the map and give it a regular, finely lined texture.

Maple Heights Map Poster & Print
Maple Heights lies southeast of downtown Cleveland in Cuyahoga County. It is one of the city's inner-ring suburbs. From above, it is almost entirely residential: long, parallel streets lined with compact houses, broken up by a few main roads, school grounds and small parks. It merges with neighbouring suburbs on nearly every side.
The city grew quickly in the decades after the Second World War, when workers from Cleveland's factories bought homes in its new subdivisions. Many of the brick and frame houses from that period still line its streets, and the neighbourhoods keep a steady, even scale.
A Maple Heights map poster shows the classic American streetcar and postwar suburb. The grid is dense and consistent, with a slight change in angle where different developments meet. In black and white it reads as a fine, textile-like pattern, calm and orderly, a clear record of mid-century Ohio.

Main road crossings
A few wider roads cross the grid and carry traffic toward Cleveland and nearby suburbs. They form the map's main structure.
Parks and schools
Open spaces around schools and small parks interrupt the grid. They appear as calm, empty blocks among the dense streets.
