Mayfield Heights Map Poster & Print
Mayfield Heights is an inner-ring suburb on the east side of Greater Cleveland, in Cuyahoga County. Its map is shaped by two strong lines. Mayfield Road runs east to west through the city as its main commercial corridor, and Interstate 271 runs north to south along the eastern side, with its interchanges showing up as looping knots in the linework.
Between these corridors are mid-century residential streets: short blocks, curving lanes and cul-de-sacs typical of postwar suburban planning, broken up by apartment complexes and retail sites near the main roads. The city is also home to Hillcrest Hospital, one of the larger medical centres in the eastern suburbs, whose campus occupies a sizeable parcel on the map.
A Mayfield Heights map poster shows how a Cleveland suburb is actually put together. The arterial road carries the shops, the highway carries commuters, and quiet neighbourhoods fill the space in between. Drawn in fine black lines, the pattern turns out to be neat and surprisingly graphic, a familiar landscape for anyone who has lived on the east side.

Interstate 271
The highway runs along the eastern side of the city, and its broad lanes and curving interchange ramps add a strong engineered element to the edge of the map.
Postwar street pattern
Residential areas mix short straight blocks with gentle curves and dead ends, a suburban texture that looks orderly and calm when rendered in a single colour.
