Metairie Map Poster & Print
Metairie is an unincorporated community in Jefferson Parish, lying west of New Orleans and bordered to the north by Lake Pontchartrain. The land is low and flat, and the street plan is almost entirely regular, with long avenues and a dense residential grid. The 17th Street Canal marks much of its eastern edge, separating Metairie from New Orleans.
Metairie Road follows an old natural ridge, one of the few slightly higher strips of ground in the area, and remains its oldest route. Veterans Memorial Boulevard runs east to west through the middle, lined with shops, while Causeway Boulevard heads north to the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, a bridge of roughly twenty-four miles across the lake.
A Metairie map poster shows how a suburb can hold its own graphic character: straight drainage canals, the lakefront levee, the bend of Metairie Road, and the long causeway reaching out across the water from the top of the frame. It is precise and orderly, with just a few meaningful curves.

Metairie Road ridge
This older road follows a slight natural ridge, and its gentle curve stands out clearly against the straight avenues that surround it.
Canals and boulevards
Drainage canals and wide boulevards such as Veterans Memorial cut through the grid in long straight lines, giving the flat suburb its orderly structure.

Zakaj Metairie
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For many families, Metairie is where New Orleans life continued after moving a few miles west, or where they settled after the storms. A map of it holds the everyday landmarks: the boulevard, the canal, the drive up to the lake.
Add a title, a subtitle with a date or family name, and the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, and the HD files are $9.
