Middletown Map Poster & Print
Middletown lies on the Great Miami River in southwestern Ohio, between Cincinnati and Dayton. The river curves along the western side of the city. From above, the streets spread out from the older downtown near the water toward newer neighbourhoods and highways to the east.
The city's modern history is tied to steel. The American Rolling Mill Company, later Armco and then AK Steel, was founded here at the turn of the twentieth century. Its large works still occupy a broad tract of land, which stands out on the map as a zone of long buildings and rail lines.
A Middletown map poster brings these layers together: the river's curve, the rectangular downtown blocks, the industrial district and the suburban loops added as the city grew. It is a direct, honest portrait of an American manufacturing town in the Miami Valley.

Steel works
The mill complex covers a large block of land. Its long rectangular buildings and rail lines form one of the most distinctive shapes on the poster.
Downtown grid
The older centre near the river is laid out in compact rectangular blocks. Main roads lead from it toward the interstate and the surrounding suburbs.
