Branching street pattern
Instead of a grid, the streets fork and curve between compounds. The result is an irregular network that is dense near the centre and opens up towards the edges.

Missérété Map Poster & Print
Missérété lies in the Ouémé department of southern Benin, a short distance north of Porto-Novo and the coastal lagoons. From above, the town has no planned grid. Its streets branch out from a few main roads into irregular blocks and compound lanes, and the edges fade gradually into fields and scattered houses instead of stopping at a clear boundary.
This pattern is typical of the settlements in this part of Benin, where towns grew around markets, family compounds and the routes between villages. On a map it reads as a denser core that thins into small clusters, with short tracks linking houses to the road. The wetlands of the lower Ouémé valley lie to the west and shape how the wider region is drawn.
A Missérété map poster keeps that organic structure intact. In black and white, the branching lanes look almost like the veins of a leaf, and the lack of a strict grid gives the print a softer, hand-drawn quality. It suits a room where someone wants a quiet reminder of a specific place in southern Benin rather than a famous skyline.

Close to Porto-Novo
The town lies just north of Benin's official capital. A wider frame shows how local roads connect it to the city and to the lagoon coast further south.
Farmland margins
Around the built-up area the map opens into fields and scattered settlements, so the white space of the poster frames the town the way the countryside does.

Zakaj Missérété
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People who grew up in Missérété, or whose families come from the Ouémé area, often want a place like this on the wall because it almost never appears on souvenirs. A map poster records the actual streets of home, and it doesn't need a landmark to explain it.
You can set the title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
