The Caí River
The river runs beside the town in slow curves, with low floodplain along its banks. It provides the one flowing line in an otherwise orderly plan.

Montenegro Map Poster & Print
Montenegro sits on the Caí River northwest of Porto Alegre, in the valley that carries the river's name. On a map the town is a mostly regular grid on the riverbank, with blocks laid out in straight lines and main roads leading away toward neighbouring towns. The river runs along one side in slow bends and gives the composition a natural edge.
Like much of the Vale do Caí, the area was shaped by nineteenth-century European immigration, particularly by German settlers, and later by the railway and highways that tied it to the state capital. The valley is also known for its citrus orchards. Beyond the grid, the land breaks up into farms, orchards and rural roads that wander over low hills.
A Montenegro map poster suits anyone who wants a clear, well-ordered city plan with a touch of natural irregularity. The contrast between the right-angled centre and the curving river is especially strong in the Paper and Sand styles. Because the title can be personalised, it can also say exactly which Montenegro is meant, not the Balkan country of the same name.

Grid centre
In the central blocks the streets meet at right angles, forming a crisp pattern of squares that stays legible even at the smaller print sizes.
Roads to the valley
Highways and rural roads leave the town in several directions and link it to Porto Alegre and the smaller towns of the Vale do Caí.
