Morgantown Map Poster & Print
Morgantown sits on the Monongahela River in northern West Virginia, close to the Pennsylvania border. Its map is shaped by terrain: the river runs through a deep valley, and streets climb and twist up the surrounding hills rather than following a strict grid. Downtown occupies a compact area above the riverbank, with neighbourhoods spreading along ridges and hollows in every direction.
The city is home to West Virginia University, whose campuses take up large parts of the map. Morgantown is also known for its Personal Rapid Transit system, automated cars on a dedicated guideway linking downtown with the university's campuses, and one of the earliest systems of its kind in the world. On paper, its route appears as a distinctive line through the valley.
A Morgantown map poster captures the tension between river, hills and campus: the Monongahela as a strong curve, the older street network of downtown and the university grounds spread across the slopes. It makes a natural keepsake for graduates, faculty and families who spent formative years in the city.
