Musashino Map Poster & Print
Musashino lies just west of Tokyo's twenty-three wards, on the flat Musashino terrace that gave the city its name. Its territory is small and almost entirely built up, so from above it appears as an intricate web of narrow residential streets, broken only by rail lines, school grounds, university campuses and patches of park.
The JR Chūō Line crosses the city from east to west, with Kichijōji, Mitaka and Musashi-Sakai stations along it. Kichijōji, a shopping and residential area regularly ranked among the most desirable places to live in the Tokyo region, sits beside Inokashira Park, whose long pond and wooded edges straddle the boundary with Mitaka.
A Musashino map poster reveals just how fine the texture of suburban Tokyo is. Thousands of small lanes form a pattern that feels hand-drawn, while the rail line cuts through it in one confident stroke. Seikei University's tree-lined campus and the open ground of Inokashira Park add quiet spaces to an otherwise closely woven sheet.

Chūō Line
The straight rail line runs across the entire city, linking its three stations and dividing the dense residential streets into northern and southern halves.
Kichijōji streets
Around the station, shopping arcades and lanes form a tight cluster of small blocks, noticeably denser than the residential streets further out.
