Valley town layout
The built area stretches along a valley floor, so the street network is long and narrow in outline, with hills leaving blank space on either side of the densest blocks.

Nanma Map Poster & Print
Nanma sits in the uplands of central Shandong, in the Yimeng mountain country, and serves as the seat of Yiyuan County within Zibo. From above, the town reads as a compact built area fitted into a valley floor, its streets following the lie of the land rather than an imposed grid. Ridges and wooded slopes surround it, so the edge of the town is defined as much by terrain as by roads.
The upper reaches of the Yi River begin in this part of Shandong, which is where Yiyuan takes its name, and water shapes the plan. River channels appear as the largest open forms on the map, with bridges stitching the two banks together. Newer districts extend along the valley in longer, straighter blocks, while older lanes close to the centre stay tighter and more irregular.
A Nanma map poster turns that balance of valley and hillside into a quiet graphic. The dense core, the arterial roads reaching outward and the empty spaces where slopes rise give the composition a natural frame. It suits anyone with roots in Yiyuan or a connection to the mountain towns of Shandong, and it holds its own as an abstract study of how a town settles into a landscape.

Near the Yi's source
Waterways near the source of the Yi River cross the area, and on a black-and-white print they read as clean, pale channels that break up the fabric of streets.
Mountain surroundings
Beyond the town edge, roads thin out into winding routes that follow ridgelines and side valleys, a reminder of the Yimeng uplands that enclose the county on all sides.
