Neufchâtel-Est–Lebourgneuf Map Poster & Print
Neufchâtel-Est–Lebourgneuf is a district in the Les Rivières borough of Quebec City, north of the old centre. Its map is shaped by the region's autoroutes, whose long curves and interchanges form strong boundaries and divide the area into distinct sections. Between them, residential neighbourhoods fill in with crescents, loops and short streets typical of postwar and later suburban planning.
Lebourgneuf is known as a commercial and office area. It is home to Les Galeries de la Capitale, one of the largest shopping centres in eastern Canada, with an indoor amusement park under its roof. A Neufchâtel-Est–Lebourgneuf map poster shows how that cluster of large buildings and parking areas sits right beside quiet residential streets and green corridors.
In black and white the autoroutes become the boldest lines on the page, sweeping arcs that give the composition a modern, almost architectural energy. Small streams and wooded patches between neighbourhoods soften it. This is a map of contemporary Quebec City rather than its walled old town, and for the people who live here, that is exactly the point.
