Branching rural lanes
Narrow roads fork and curve across the hillsides, linking scattered homes. From above they form a delicate, leaf-like network that fills the frame evenly.

Pāttyam Map Poster & Print
Pāttyam lies in the Kannur district of northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the Malabar coast. Like much of rural Kerala, it has no sharp edge. Houses and lanes spread across low hills among coconut palms and gardens, so the map shows a fine, continuous web of small roads rather than a dense core. Streams and paddy land fill the lower ground between the ridges.
This scattered pattern is typical of the region, where villages and towns merge into one another along roads and ridgelines. The population counted here covers a wide area rather than one compact settlement. Monsoon rains, laterite soil and rivers running west to the Arabian Sea shape the landscape, and they also decide where roads and houses sit.
A Pāttyam map poster turns that intricate, branching network into a delicate black-and-white drawing. The result looks almost botanical, with roads spreading like veins across the sheet. It makes a considered gift for families from the area, including those who have moved abroad and want a clear, personal view of the place they call home.

Valleys and paddy land
Lower ground between the ridges holds streams and fields. These appear as quieter open areas and give the dense network of lanes room to breathe.
Inland from the coast
The Malabar coastline lies a short way to the west. Main roads running toward the coastal towns cut longer, straighter lines through the local pattern.

Zakaj Pāttyam
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Kerala has a large diaspora, and many families keep strong ties to one village or panchayat. A map of Pāttyam turns that bond into something you can hang on a wall, wherever home happens to be now.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a house name or a date. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand before downloading or ordering a print.
