Plaisance-du-Touch sits on the western edge of the Toulouse metropolitan area in Occitanie, taking its name from the Touch, a small river that flows north toward the Garonne. On a map the river is the quiet organising line, a winding green corridor that the town has grown up beside rather than across.
The old centre is small, a knot of streets around the village core. Around it, the pattern changes to one familiar across the outskirts of Toulouse: residential neighbourhoods laid out in cul-de-sacs and gentle loops, separated by fields, sports grounds and patches of woodland. Larger roads link the town toward the city and the surrounding communes, forming a looser outer frame.
