Central creek
The khor winds inland from the sea and splits the city in two, its curved banks and bridges forming the natural focal point of any framing of the centre.

Ras Al Khaimah Map Poster & Print
Ras Al Khaimah is the capital of the northernmost of the seven emirates, set on the Gulf coast where the plain between sea and mountains narrows. The city is split by a tidal creek: the older quarter lies on the western spit facing the sea, while Al Nakheel and the newer districts spread across the eastern side, linked by bridges over the water.
Around the creek, mangroves and shallow lagoons create soft, irregular shapes that set the city apart from the rigid grids common elsewhere in the region. To the south, further along the coast, the artificial islands of Al Marjan extend into the sea, their outlines clear and deliberate against the natural shoreline.
Inland, the Hajar Mountains rise sharply, and Jebel Jais, whose slopes hold the highest point in the United Arab Emirates, lies within the emirate. The road to its summit ridge, with its long switchbacks, is one of the country's best-known drives. A Ras Al Khaimah map poster frames the meeting of creek, coast and mountain foothills in one composition.

Mangrove margins
Shallow tidal flats and mangrove stands along the creek appear as irregular, organic edges that soften the transition between built districts and open water.
Al Marjan islands
Reclaimed islands extend into the Gulf south of the centre, their smooth engineered outlines reading as a clear graphic counterpoint to the natural shoreline.
