Rio Formoso Map Poster & Print
Rio Formoso lies on the southern coast of Pernambuco, a short distance inland from the Atlantic, where the river of the same name widens into a winding estuary. On a map the town sits on higher ground near the water, with streets arranged along the slope and roads leading toward the coastal towns and the highways that connect the region with Recife.
The estuary is the dominant feature: broad channels, sandbanks and mangrove fringes spread through the lower part of the municipality, drawn as intricate, branching shapes. Inland, the landscape is shaped by sugarcane, which has defined the economy of this coast since colonial times, and whose fields appear as large, quiet areas broken by farm roads and small settlements.
A Rio Formoso map poster pairs the compact town with the flowing lines of water around it. The river channels and mangrove edges give the image movement, while the street grid provides a steady anchor. In monochrome, the estuary becomes an elegant network of curves, and the map reads as both a record of the town and a portrait of a coastline.

Mangrove fringes
Mangroves line the tidal channels, and on the map they appear as irregular edges between water and land that soften the lower half of the composition.
Sugarcane country
Large fields of sugarcane spread inland from the town, shown as calm open areas crossed by farm roads and dotted with small settlements.
