The railway spine
A broad strip of tracks and yards cuts through the town. It is the thickest, most confident line on the poster and divides the streets into two halves.

Rtishchevo Map Poster & Print
Rtishchevo grew up around a railway station in the second half of the nineteenth century, and the railway still defines it. From above, a wide band of tracks, sidings and depots crosses the town. Residential streets on both sides run in a plain, regular pattern, as was common in settlements that grew around a station rather than around a fortress or market square.
The surrounding land belongs to the open steppe of Saratov Oblast. There are broad fields, shelterbelts of trees and small rivers with modest valleys. On the map, the edge of town is sharp. Blocks give way to farmland almost at once, and roads and lines of rail run away across the plain toward the neighbouring regions.
A Rtishchevo map poster works best for people who know the town from the inside: railway families, former residents and anyone who passed through on a long journey south. There is little ornament in the plan, and that is its appeal. Straight lines, a heavy spine of tracks and open country beyond make an honest and very legible composition.

Regular street grid
Streets run in a plain, rectilinear pattern on either side of the railway. The map gets a calm rhythm of even blocks and crossings.
Edge of the steppe
The built-up area ends abruptly where open fields begin. The empty space around the town makes the composition feel wide and still.

Zakaj Rtishchevo
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
A map of Rtishchevo is a way to honour a hometown that rarely appears on souvenirs. Railway families especially often recognise their own street at a glance. Add a surname, a year or a short line in the subtitle to make it your own.
The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and Noir suits the heavy rail lines well. Download the HD files for $9 in six print sizes, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
