Railway workshop
The large workshop grounds form one of the most distinctive shapes on the map, a broad, orderly block beside the tracks that has long employed much of the town.

Saidpur Map Poster & Print
Saidpur is in Nilphamari District in Rangpur Division, on the flat plains of northern Bangladesh. The town is closely tied to the railway. The Saidpur Railway Workshop, set up in the colonial period in the late nineteenth century, is widely regarded as the largest railway workshop in the country, and the town grew around it.
On a map the railway is the defining feature. Tracks and sidings cut through the town, the workshop grounds cover a large, orderly block, and the older quarters built for railway staff have a more regular layout than the lanes around them. Saidpur is also home to a large Urdu-speaking community, many of whose families came to work on the railway.
A Saidpur map poster shows a town with a clear working heart. The straight lines of the tracks contrast with the looser pattern of the residential lanes, and the flat surrounding land lets the street network spread evenly outward, which makes for a clean, balanced print.

Tracks and sidings
Straight rail lines run through the town and fan into several parallel tracks near the yards, giving the composition a strong linear accent.
Plains setting
With no hills or large rivers nearby, the streets spread evenly across flat farmland, so the town's outline reads as compact and centred.
