Saint Cloud Map Poster & Print
Saint Cloud grew up on both banks of the Mississippi River in central Minnesota, and the river is the defining line on its map. It runs through the city from north to south, crossed by several bridges, and the downtown grid sits on the west bank. Neighbourhoods reach out in all directions, and the city spreads across three counties.
The area's granite quarries gave Saint Cloud its nickname, the Granite City, and flooded quarries and parks still mark the landscape to the west. St. Cloud State University occupies a campus beside the river south of downtown, and on the east bank the Munsinger and Clemens Gardens sit close to the water. Small wooded islands break up the channel.
A Saint Cloud map poster places the river at the centre of the composition, with the downtown grid, the campus and the long residential streets arranged around it. It is a clear, legible map with a strong natural line running through it, which makes it one of the more graphic mid-sized American cities to hang on a wall.

Downtown grid
On the west bank, downtown's regular blocks meet the river at a slight angle, a compact grid that anchors the rest of the city's street pattern.
University riverfront
St. Cloud State University sits by the river south of downtown, its campus buildings and green space forming a distinct, open patch along the water.
