Saint-Georges Map Poster & Print
Saint-Georges is the main city of the Beauce region of Quebec, south of Quebec City. The Chaudière River runs through its centre from south to north and divides the city into a west side and an east side. Several bridges connect the two banks.
The river shapes the city in other ways too. The Chaudière is known for spring flooding, and the valley floor is narrow, so streets climb the slopes on both sides. Upstream, a dam controls the river's flow. Beyond the city, the surrounding farmland is divided into the long, narrow lots typical of rural Quebec.
A Saint-Georges map poster shows a city built on both sides of a river. The two sides mirror each other across the water, and the farm lots add a pattern of fine parallel lines around the edges.

River crossings
Bridges join the east and west sides at several points. On the poster they are short lines that connect the two halves of the city.
Long farm lots
Beyond the city, fields are divided into long, narrow strips following the traditional Quebec rang system. They form a distinctive striped texture.
