Solon Map Poster & Print
Solon is a suburban city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, southeast of Cleveland. From above, its layout mixes several patterns. Curving residential streets end in loops and cul-de-sacs, large rectangular business and industrial parks sit along the main roads, and green corridors follow creeks and woodland through the city.
The city is known for its strong public schools and for a substantial commercial and industrial base, with a number of companies headquartered or operating in its business parks. Solon grew from a rural township into a planned suburb over the twentieth century, and its layout still reflects that deliberate growth.
A Solon map poster captures a very different kind of place from a dense old town. Looping streets give it a soft, organic texture, straight arterial roads provide structure, and the large footprints of the business districts add bold shapes. In monochrome, the mix is graphic and surprisingly rich.

Business parks
Large commercial and industrial areas line some of the main roads. Their wide lots and long service roads contrast clearly with the finer residential grain.
Green corridors
Creeks, parks and woodland run through and around the city. They leave open channels in the street pattern that give the composition breathing room.
