Tamiami Map Poster & Print
Tamiami is a census-designated place in western Miami-Dade County, Florida, and it takes its name from the Tamiami Trail, the historic highway that links Tampa and Miami across the Everglades. From above, the area follows the county's strict grid of numbered streets and avenues, laid out in large squares that continue for miles. Within those squares, residential streets curve and loop into cul-de-sacs.
The flat land of South Florida leaves no hills to bend the streets, so the map is shaped by the grid and by water. Drainage canals cut across the area in long straight lines, part of the system that manages water between the suburbs and the wetlands further west. The main arterial roads carry heavy traffic and form the boundaries of neighbourhoods on every side.
A Tamiami map poster captures a very particular kind of South Florida landscape: large-scale order at the level of the grid, varied detail within each block, and the Everglades not far beyond the western edge. It suits families who have settled here, and it reads well next to maps of central Miami or the Keys.

Canals
Straight drainage canals cross the area and appear as thin, clean lines that cut through the residential pattern, a signature of South Florida water management.
Cul-de-sacs
Inside each large block, residential streets loop, curve and end in cul-de-sacs, adding fine, varied detail between the straight lines of the county grid.
