Hill-following streets
Roads curve along the slopes rather than cutting straight across them. The result is a flowing, contour-like pattern throughout the poster.

Umm as Summāq Map Poster & Print
Umm as Summāq is a residential district in the western part of Amman, the Jordanian capital. Like much of Amman, it is built across hills, with valleys between them. West Amman developed later than the old downtown and is known for its larger houses and wider streets.
On a map, the district's streets follow the terrain closely. Roads wind along slopes, climb in switchbacks and meet at irregular junctions. Main avenues link the neighbourhood to the rest of west Amman. The street pattern is dense but never rigid, and in places the contour lines of the hills are almost visible in the layout.
An Umm as Summāq map poster is for residents, former residents and families who have lived in this part of Amman. It shows the neighbourhood as a network of curves across the hills. In monochrome the effect is almost topographic, and the district becomes recognisable even without labels.

Connecting avenues
Wider roads link the district with neighbouring areas of west Amman. They form the main structure within which the smaller streets are arranged.
Valleys between hills
Lower ground between the built-up slopes leaves gaps in the street network. These give the map depth and a sense of the city's terrain.
