Wangfen Map Poster
Wangfen is a town in Shandong province in eastern China, set in the hilly country of the province's interior. Its map is small in scale and closely tied to the land: a modest core of streets, roads that take the easiest routes through uneven ground, and villages spread across the surrounding countryside. It is the kind of place where the terrain, rather than planning, has written most of the layout.
The character of the drawing comes from how roads respond to the ground. Instead of a strict grid, routes curve along valleys and around higher land, linking clusters of houses that sit where fields and water allow. Farmland fills the spaces between them and streams mark the lower ground, so the town reads as part of a wider network rather than a single block.
A Wangfen map poster keeps this network in clean black line work. The eye moves from the denser centre out along the winding roads to the smaller settlements, following the same paths people travel every day. For anyone with family ties to this corner of Shandong, it is a modest and faithful picture of home.

Winding valley roads
Roads curve along the lower ground and around higher land, drawing long, flowing lines across the frame that quietly reveal the shape of the hill country.
Scattered villages
Small settlements dot the countryside around the town, each a tiny cluster of lines joined by country roads, giving the map a rhythm of dense and open spaces.

Zakaj Wangfen

People hang a map of Wangfen to keep a connection with a hometown in the Shandong hills, often after moving to a larger city. The roads between the villages, the fields and the town centre are a map of family memories as much as geography.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for instance with a family name and a year. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white and Noir to Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as HD files or a printed poster on matte paper.
