Westhoughton Map Poster & Print
Westhoughton lies between Bolton and Wigan in the north-west of England, and its map is shaped by a long main road that runs through the centre with streets branching off on either side. Rows of terraced houses give parts of the town a close, ribbed texture, while newer estates spread outward in looser curves and cul-de-sacs.
The town's past is industrial. In 1812 Westhoughton Mill was burned during Luddite protests, and in December 1910 the Pretoria Pit disaster at the nearby Hulton Colliery killed 344 men and boys, one of the worst mining accidents in British history. Today the M61 motorway passes close to the town, a clean, sweeping line on any map of the area.
A Westhoughton map poster captures that mix of old and new: the tight terraces near the centre, the green gaps where pits and fields once were, and the ring of later housing. Printed in plain black and white, the street pattern alone tells the story of a Lancashire town shaped by coal, cotton and commuting.

Terraced streets
Parallel rows of terraced housing create closely spaced lines that print as a fine, regular texture, clearly different from the curving layouts of later estates.
Motorway edge
The M61 runs close by, its broad sweep and junction giving the map a strong, clean line that contrasts with the town's smaller streets.

Zakaj Westhoughton
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Westhoughton is the kind of place people describe by its streets: the road they grew up on, the school, the walk into town. A map of it makes a grounded present for someone moving away, a new homeowner, or anyone who remembers the town before the newest estates arrived.
Add a title, a subtitle with a street name or date, and the coordinates line, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital download includes six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files; printed and framed versions are also available.
