Canal grid
Long, straight canals cut across the delta and meet at right angles. They form the main structure of the map and set the direction of almost every road and field boundary.

Xóm Cái Nước Map Poster & Print
Xóm Cái Nước sits in the low, flat country of the Mexican Mekong Delta's southern reach in Vietnam, where the land is barely above water. From above, the map is mostly a pattern of waterways: long, straight canals dug for irrigation and transport, meeting narrower channels at right angles. Roads usually run beside the water, so the built-up area stretches along the banks in thin lines.
This is a settlement that grew along its canals rather than around one square. Houses, small shops and landings follow the waterways, and the space between them opens into rectangular fields separated by ditches and embankments. At poster scale, all these lines add up to something that looks almost like a woven textile. The dense clusters show where waterways meet, and the empty blocks between them are rice land and orchards.
A Xóm Cái Nước map poster makes that geometry easy to read. There are no hills or coastline in the frame, only the fine logic of water managed by hand over generations. In black and white, the canals become the strongest strokes and the roads beside them look like shadows. Few maps show so clearly how people have shaped flat land to live with water.

Settlement along banks
Homes and roads follow the waterways, so the built-up area appears as long, thin lines rather than a single compact centre.
Field geometry
Between the canals, rectangular plots divided by small ditches create a quiet repeating texture that fills the open spaces of the poster.

Zakaj Xóm Cái Nước
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People who grew up in the Mekong Delta, or who have family there, often find that a map explains home better than a photograph. The canals they crossed every day become the lines on the wall, and the pattern is instantly recognisable to anyone who knows it.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It is available as HD digital files or as a printed poster.
