Zhuanghe Map Poster & Print
Zhuanghe is a county-level city administered by Dalian, on the northern shore of the Yellow Sea along the eastern side of the Liaodong Peninsula. It takes its name from the river that runs through it to the sea. From above, the urban area forms a compact grid close to the coast, surrounded by farmland, low hills and the flat margins of the shoreline.
Much of the local economy has long been tied to the sea and the land around it, with fishing, aquaculture and farming shaping the countryside beyond the centre. The coastline here is shallow and irregular, with estuaries, tidal flats and a scatter of small islands offshore, which gives the map an edge that is softer and more broken than a harbour city's.
A Zhuanghe map poster frames the town where it meets the water: the river line, the regular blocks of the centre and the uneven shore. It is an understated subject, and that is part of its appeal. For people from the area, it shows a home that rarely appears on printed maps at all.

Broken coastline
South of the centre, the shore breaks into inlets, estuaries and tidal flats, a soft, irregular edge that contrasts with the straighter streets inland.
Offshore islands
Small islands lie off the coast in the Yellow Sea, and in wider framings they appear as quiet shapes set apart from the mainland.
