Contour-following roads
Local roads curve around slopes rather than cutting across them. This gives the map loops and switchbacks that only the hill country of this region produces.

Baisheng Map Poster & Print
Baisheng is a town in Chongqing Municipality, in the hilly country east of the main city. In this region the land is rarely flat for long. Ridges run in roughly parallel lines, valleys wind between them, and settlements settle wherever the ground allows. From above, the town appears as a compact cluster of streets surrounded by terraced fields, small ponds and lanes that follow the contours.
This landscape has a strong effect on a map drawn in black and white. Straight lines are rare. Roads bend to keep a steady gradient, streams cut shallow curves, and field boundaries stack into stepped shapes on the hillsides. The town's own streets are denser and more regular, so they read as a small, tight knot against the looser rural pattern around them.
A Baisheng map poster is a modest subject, and deliberately so. It shows a Chinese town at a human scale, far from the famous skyline of central Chongqing, drawn with the same care as a big city. It is best suited to people with a personal connection to the town who want to see its outline clearly on the wall.

Compact town core
The built-up streets form a small, dense cluster. It is easy to pick out against the lighter pattern of the fields and hamlets around it.
Terraces and ponds
Stepped field edges and scattered small water bodies fill the surrounding land. They add fine detail that comes out especially well at larger print sizes.

Zašto Baisheng
Mapa koja nešto znači
For anyone whose family comes from Baisheng, or who once lived there, a map is a quiet way to keep the place nearby. It shows the shape of home without relying on a photograph that might date. The subtitle can carry the name in Chinese characters or a family name.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the technical feel of the contour roads, while Classic keeps the terraces crisp and plain.
