Mapa
Brownwood Map Poster & Print
Brownwood is the seat of Brown County, set in the rolling ranch country of Central Texas. On a map, its core is an orderly grid of downtown blocks, laid out when the railroad made the town a regional trading centre. Pecan Bayou winds along the edge of the city in slow curves, a softer line against the straight streets.
North of town, Lake Brownwood covers a large irregular area, with arms reaching into side valleys. It is a reservoir built in the 1930s and is now a popular spot for fishing and boating. Howard Payne University adds a campus with its own pattern of buildings and lawns. During the Second World War, the large Camp Bowie training base operated near the city.
A Brownwood map poster combines those elements into one composition: the tidy downtown grid, the looser residential streets, the winding bayou and, depending on the framing, the edge of the lake. It is a straightforward Texas town map, with a few features that make it unmistakable to anyone who has lived there.
