Lake Burdur
The long salt lake spreads northwest of the city. Its shoreline has moved as the water level fell, and the map records the lake as it is today.

Mapa
Burdur Map Poster & Print
Burdur sits in the Lakes Region of southwestern Anatolia, just south of Lake Burdur. The city climbs gently from the lower ground near the lake toward the hills. On a map, a compact older core is surrounded by newer neighbourhoods on a more regular layout, with the long outline of the lake stretching away to the northwest.
Lake Burdur is a saline lake known for its birdlife, including flamingos and white-headed ducks. It has shrunk noticeably in recent decades, and its shoreline has moved as the water retreated. The province is also home to the ancient city of Sagalassos in the mountains to the south, and finds from the area fill the Burdur Museum.
A Burdur map poster places the city between two strong forms: the smooth, elongated lake and the rising land to the south. The street pattern is dense in the centre and looser toward the edges. The lakeshore, with its present-day outline, gives the composition a quiet, horizontal calm.

The old centre
Narrow, irregular streets gather in the historic core. They contrast with the more orderly blocks of the districts built around it.
Mountain approach
Land rises south of the city toward the Taurus ranges, where ancient Sagalassos lies. Roads wind up into higher ground from Burdur's edge.
