Mapa
Chadderton Map Poster & Print
Chadderton lies in the borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester, between Oldham itself and the northern outskirts of Manchester. On a map it is a continuous spread of residential streets, older terraces near the main roads and newer estates farther out, with the Rochdale Canal running along one side and parks and playing fields scattered through the town.
In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries Chadderton was a cotton town, with large spinning mills rising among the houses. Several of those big rectangular mill buildings still stand, and on the map they show up as bold blocks within the finer mesh of terraced streets. Their scale is a reminder of how central the industry once was.
A Chadderton map poster captures that layered character. Straight rows of terraces, the gentle line of the canal, the curve of main roads and the open shapes of parks all combine into a composition with a distinctly northern English rhythm. In a single colour it becomes a clear, honest portrait of a working town.

Cotton mill blocks
Former spinning mills appear as large solid rectangles among the terraces, the clearest trace of Chadderton's past as a cotton town.
Terraced streets
Long parallel rows of terraced houses near the main roads give the older parts of town a fine, regular grain that prints beautifully.
