Mapa
Daxing Map Poster & Print
Daxing lies in the mountains of northwestern Yunnan, in the Lijiang area, and serves as the seat of Ninglang County. Its map is shaped by the terrain. The town occupies a narrow stretch of flatter ground in a valley, and its streets follow that space, running lengthwise with shorter cross streets that end where the slopes begin.
Around the town, the landscape rises into forested ridges and high plateaus, and the roads that leave Daxing do so by following valleys and switching back up hillsides. Ninglang County is also home to part of Lugu Lake, a high mountain lake known for the Mosuo communities who live along its shores, though it lies some distance from the town itself.
A Daxing map poster is a study of a settlement fitted into mountains. The compact grid of the centre sits in contrast to the winding lines of the roads beyond, which trace the contours of the land. In black and white, the empty spaces of the surrounding slopes give the town a strong, isolated presence at the heart of the frame.

Mountain roads
Routes out of town wind along valleys and climb hillsides in loops and bends, adding curving lines that contrast with the compact centre.
Ninglang County seat
As the county seat, Daxing is the administrative centre for a mountainous district that also includes part of Lugu Lake on the Yunnan–Sichuan border.
