Mapa
Duzhou Map Poster & Print
Duzhou lies in the municipality of Chongqing, in the hilly country that surrounds the Yangtze east of the city centre. This part of China is defined by ridges, terraces and narrow valleys, and very little of the land is flat. The town follows that terrain rather than imposing a grid on it.
On the map the streets bend and curve, climbing slopes and following the lower ground where building is easiest. The built-up area is compact, with its core where the main roads meet, and it breaks up quickly into scattered clusters of houses and farmland at the edges.
A Duzhou map poster shows the character of a Chongqing hill town clearly. In black and white, the irregular streets and the open slopes around them form a flowing pattern, closer to a topographic sketch than to a city grid.

Compact core
Where the principal roads meet, the blocks become smaller and denser, forming the busiest part of the town and the natural centre of the poster.
Hill country edges
Around the town, the land rises into ridges and farmland, so the map fades from built-up streets into scattered clusters and open slopes.
