Canals and channels
Straight waterways cross the plain around the town. They are drawn as thin parallel lines that give the map its distinctive, orderly texture.

Mapa
Guiren Map Poster & Print
Guiren is a town in the north of Jiangsu province, in the low country of lakes and canals that covers much of the region. The land is almost perfectly flat and threaded with water. Drainage channels, irrigation canals and fish ponds divide the fields into long rectangular strips. From above, the town itself is a compact cluster of streets inside this finely divided farmland.
As in many towns in this part of China, the map is shaped more by water management than by terrain. Roads often run alongside canals, and the regular geometry of fields and ponds marks the edge of the built-up area. Newer homes and shops tend to follow straight lines, while the lanes near the centre are usually narrower and less regular.
A Guiren map poster turns this landscape into a study in parallel lines. In black on white, the canals and field boundaries become a fine texture around the solid mass of the town. It is a quiet, graphic image, and a meaningful one for anyone whose family roots are in the northern Jiangsu countryside.

Pond and field grid
Rectangular fields and fish ponds surround the town in a regular pattern, forming a geometric border around the denser streets.
Compact town centre
The built-up area is small and clearly defined. It stands out as a concentrated block of streets against the open land divided by water.
