Contour-following streets
Roads and lanes bend with the slopes rather than forming a grid, so the street pattern itself traces the shape of the hills around the town.

Mapa
Guojia Map Poster & Print
Guojia is a town in Chongqing municipality in south-western China, in the mountainous north-east of the region. The land here is rarely flat, so the town has grown wherever a valley floor or gentle slope allowed. Streets follow the contours, buildings step up the hillsides, and roads leave town along winding routes that trace the folds of the terrain.
The wider region belongs to the Three Gorges area of the upper Yangtze basin, a landscape of deep valleys, rivers and farmland worked into the slopes. Around Guojia the map shows a dense core giving way to scattered hamlets and fields. Streams run along the valley bottoms, and the ridges rise sharply on either side.
A Guojia map poster turns this mountain setting into a clean graphic pattern. The curving lines of roads and water describe the shape of the land even without contour shading. It is a quiet portrait of a small town shaped entirely by its terrain, the kind of place most maps overlook.

Valley floor core
The densest buildings gather on the flatter ground of the valley. This compact centre thins out quickly as the land rises toward the ridges.
Streams and slopes
Small streams run through the valleys, and the slopes around them are farmed. Together they add fine, layered lines to the edges of the map.
