Mapa
Independence Map Poster & Print
Independence sits just east of Kansas City, and its map is organised around one clear point: Independence Square, with the historic Jackson County courthouse at its centre. Streets radiate outward in a regular grid that becomes looser suburban development toward the south and east. To the north, the Missouri River forms a natural boundary.
In the nineteenth century the town was a starting point for the Santa Fe, Oregon and California trails, which is reflected today in the National Frontier Trails Museum. It is also closely tied to Harry S. Truman, who lived here and whose presidential library is in the city. His home on North Delaware Street is preserved as a historic site.
An Independence map poster shows a mix of old and new: the square and its close grid, the leafy residential streets around the Truman neighbourhood and the major roads leading toward Kansas City. The river gives the top of the map a smooth curve, balancing the straight lines below it.

Truman neighbourhood
North of the square, residential streets around the Truman home keep the scale of an older town, with narrow lots and tree-lined blocks.
Missouri River
The river runs along the northern side of the city, bending across the top of the map and separating it from the lowlands on the far bank.

Zašto Independence
Mapa koja nešto znači
Independence works well for anyone interested in American history, for Truman admirers or for families with trail-era roots. It also suits people who simply lived near the square and want a map of their own streets.
Set the title and subtitle yourself, add a date or a line about the trails, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand give it a softer, archival feel.
