Contour-hugging roads
The main roads curve with the hills instead of cutting across them, and on paper they show the shape of the land even though the terrain itself is left out.

Mapa
Longju Map Poster & Print
Longju sits in the hill country of eastern Chongqing, where the land rarely stays flat for long. From above, the town reads as a tight cluster of streets packed into whatever level ground the terrain allows. Roads curve around spurs and follow valley floors instead of laying out a grid. The built area fades quickly into terraced fields and wooded ridges.
This is a landscape shaped by the wider Yangtze basin, where streams have cut the land into ridges and hollows over a very long time. At poster scale, the pattern of roads shows that clearly. Main routes thread along the contours and side lanes climb short distances before giving way to farmland, so the town looks like it grew in place rather than to a plan.
A Longju map poster makes something quiet out of that restless ground. With colour removed, the lines become a study of how a settlement fits itself to steep country. The street pattern is dense at the centre and loosens toward the edges, and the empty space around it carries almost as much of the picture as the roads.

Compact core
Level ground is scarce, so the centre is tightly packed. The dense knot of lanes stands out sharply against the open country around it.
Hill country edges
At the edges the streets give way quickly to ridges and farmland. The white space around the town hints at the Chongqing uplands beyond the frame.
