Middle River branches
The forks of the Middle River and its connecting canals push into the eastern neighbourhoods. They create irregular fingers of water that interrupt the grid and give the map its most distinctive shapes.

Mapa
Oakland Park Map Poster & Print
Oakland Park lies just north of Fort Lauderdale in Broward County. It shows the typical South Florida pattern: a firm grid of residential streets, major roads running north to south parallel to the Atlantic shore, and water breaking into the grid wherever canals and the Middle River branches wind through it.
The city was first incorporated in the 1920s land boom under the name Floranada, and it was later reorganised as Oakland Park. Development patterns from several decades show up on the map. Older, tighter blocks sit near the railway and Dixie Highway, while later subdivisions have curving streets and cul-de-sacs facing the water.
An Oakland Park map poster shows how much of the city is organised around water. Canal lines finger into neighbourhoods, and many streets stop at a waterway rather than crossing it. Rendered in fine monochrome lines, the grid and the waterways balance each other in a way that feels calm rather than crowded.

North–south corridors
Long straight arteries, including Dixie Highway and the railway beside it, run parallel to the coast. They give the map strong vertical lines that anchor the smaller residential blocks between them.
Waterfront cul-de-sacs
Many side streets end in short loops along the canals, which was a standard layout for waterfront lots. At poster scale these small dead ends form a repeating pattern along the water.

Zašto Oakland Park
Mapa koja nešto znači
Oakland Park suits anyone who has lived near the canals of Broward County, whether they grew up here, bought a first home here or spent winters nearby. The map shows the place through its streets and water, without any postcard imagery.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a street address or a moving-in date. Then pick one of five styles; Blueprint and Sand in particular set off the waterways well.
