Palace quarter
The older core around the former royal palace is a close weave of short, irregular streets. It is noticeably denser than the newer blocks that have grown along the main roads.

Paralakhemundi Map Poster & Print
Paralakhemundi sits in the far south of Odisha, close to the border with Andhra Pradesh, and is the headquarters of Gajapati district. On a map the town shows a dense, irregular core of short streets and lanes. Main roads spread out from it toward villages, paddy fields and the low wooded hills of the Eastern Ghats, which rise beyond the edge of town.
The town grew up as the seat of the Paralakhemundi estate, and the palace of its former rulers still anchors the older quarter. Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Deo of Paralakhemundi is remembered across Odisha for his part in the movement that led to a separate Odisha province in 1936. The district is named after him.
A Paralakhemundi map poster fits all of this into one frame: the tight knot of the centre, the roads that thin into rural tracks and the open ground in between. In black and white, the plan becomes a quiet record of a border town shaped by its palace, its market streets and the hills on its horizon.

Roads to the border
Main routes leave town in several directions, including toward Andhra Pradesh a short distance to the south. They draw long single lines across otherwise open countryside.
Eastern Ghats edge
To the west the street pattern stops against rising, forested ground. The map shows a clear line where the built-up area gives way to hills.
