Several roads meet at the centre of Puurs, around its church and main streets. They form a small star from which the rest of the town spreads.

Mapa
Puurs Map Poster & Print
Puurs lies in the province of Antwerp, between Antwerp and Brussels. Since 2019, it has been part of the merged municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands. On a map, it follows a very Flemish pattern: a town centre where several roads meet, surrounded by ribbons of houses along the roads and smaller village cores scattered across flat, green land. Waterways and the Scheldt lie close by to the west.
Puurs is widely known for its large pharmaceutical manufacturing site, one of the main production plants of Pfizer in Europe. It came to international attention during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. On the map, industrial and business parks appear as large simple blocks. They sit beside the fine texture of houses, farms and country lanes.
A Puurs map poster captures the mix of town, field and road that defines much of the Belgian countryside. There is no single grand avenue or harbour. Instead, streets fan out in every direction and join the next village along the way. The pattern is unusually even and textured, and it fills a poster beautifully.

Ribbon development
Houses line the roads out of town in long ribbons. This is a typically Flemish pattern that draws thin, continuous lines across the surrounding farmland.
Industrial parks
Large manufacturing sites, including the well-known pharmaceutical plant, appear as broad solid blocks. They contrast strongly with the fine grain of nearby streets.
