Mapa
Roanoke Map Poster & Print
Roanoke lies in a valley in southwestern Virginia, ringed by the ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian foothills. On a map the city spreads across the valley floor in a patchwork of grids, each tilted to follow the terrain. The Roanoke River winds through from west to east, and the surrounding slopes stay mostly empty of streets.
The city grew up around the railroad in the late nineteenth century, when it became a hub for the Norfolk and Western Railway, and the rail corridor still slices through the centre as a band of parallel tracks. Just south of downtown, Mill Mountain rises out of the neighbourhoods. On top stands the large illuminated star that gave Roanoke its nickname, the Star City of the South.
A Roanoke map poster shows how tightly the town is held by its landscape: interstate curves to the north, the Blue Ridge Parkway threading the ridges beyond the city, and the downtown blocks pressed between track and river. It is a natural choice for anyone who grew up in the valley or came here for the mountains.

Mill Mountain
An almost street-free island of green rises just south of downtown, with a single road climbing its flanks toward the star and the overlook at the top.
Roanoke River
The river bends through the southern part of the city, lined by a greenway and parkland, and softens the otherwise angular pattern of blocks around it.

Zašto Roanoke
Mapa koja nešto znači
Roanoke tends to stay with people: a first job on the railway, a college nearby, weekends on the Appalachian Trail or the parkway. A framed map of the valley holds all of that in one image, with the mountains implied by the empty space between neighbourhoods.
Every poster can carry a personal title, a date that matters to you and a coordinates line for the exact spot. Choose Classic black & white for a crisp look, Paper for something warmer, or Blueprint to echo the city's engineering past. Noir and Sand are there too.
