Lakeside setting
Snezhinsk lies among several lakes, including Sinara, and the city reaches the water along its edge. The shorelines give the drawing soft, irregular curves around a regular plan.

Mapa
Snezhinsk Map Poster & Print
Snezhinsk was built in the late 1950s as a secret settlement in the forests of the southern Urals, known for decades only by the code name Chelyabinsk-70. It remains a closed city today, organised around a major nuclear research centre, and access for outsiders is restricted, which makes its plan all the more interesting to study from above.
The map shows a town designed in one piece. Residential quarters are arranged in orderly blocks along broad avenues, with generous green space between buildings in the Soviet manner. Lakes surround the city, including Sinara, and the town meets the water along its edge, so shorelines and forest frame the drawn streets on several sides.
A Snezhinsk map poster appeals to those who grew up behind the checkpoints, to scientists and their families, and to anyone curious about planned Soviet towns. The composition is unusually tidy: a compact urban area, a clear edge where the city stops and the forest begins, and the soft irregular shapes of the surrounding lakes.

Planned quarters
Residential districts were laid out as a whole, with wide streets and courtyards between blocks, producing the orderly, legible pattern typical of Soviet planned towns.
Forest boundary
Forest surrounds the city closely, so the built-up area ends abruptly, giving the poster a clearly defined urban shape set against open space.
