Mapa
Tamesna Map Poster & Print
Tamesna is a new town in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region of Morocco, created in the early twenty-first century to relieve housing pressure on the capital and its surroundings. It lies inland to the south of Rabat, on open land away from the Atlantic coast. Because it was planned from the start, its map looks very different from the old medinas of the region.
From above, Tamesna is a pattern of regular housing blocks, straight avenues and roundabouts, with large sectors laid out in repeated geometric units. Some areas remain unfinished or open, so the grid is interrupted by empty plots and wide spaces waiting for development. The overall effect is orderly and graphic, closer to a plan drawing than to an organically grown town.
A Tamesna map poster suits the town's modern, deliberate character. The long avenues and repeated blocks read clearly in black and white, and the open land around the edges frames the planned districts. For families who moved here from Rabat or elsewhere, it is a record of a new home in a place still taking shape.

Avenues and roundabouts
Wide, straight avenues cross the town and meet at roundabouts, forming the main structure of the plan and linking the residential sectors.
Open plots
Unbuilt land within and around the town leaves clear gaps in the grid, a reminder that Tamesna is still growing into its original plan.
