Winding residential lanes
Streets curve and loop instead of forming a grid, which reflects early twentieth-century suburban planning. From above, the pattern looks soft and almost hand-drawn.

Mapa
Woodmere Map Poster & Print
Woodmere is a hamlet on the South Shore of Long Island in Nassau County. It is one of the communities known together as the Five Towns. On the map it has a residential texture, with winding lanes and cul-de-sacs rather than a strict grid. Large lots and mature trees soften the pattern, and the Long Island Rail Road line cuts a straight diagonal through the curving streets.
To the south, the land breaks into marsh, inlets and narrow channels before it reaches the open water of the back bays. That edge is the most striking part of the map. Hard-edged streets turn into the irregular outlines of tidal wetland. Kennedy Airport lies not far to the west, just beyond the neighbouring communities, which shows how close this quiet suburb sits to the city.
A Woodmere map poster captures a very particular kind of American suburb. It is older, leafy and carefully laid out, with a golf course as its largest open space and the water always nearby. The pattern is calm but never plain, because the streets bend around old estates and follow the shoreline.

The rail line
The Long Island Rail Road runs through Woodmere with a station in the community. Its straight line contrasts sharply with the curved streets around it.
Marsh and channels
Along the southern edge, wetlands and narrow tidal channels break the coastline into fine shapes. This is where the land meets the bays of the South Shore.
