Al Qūşīyah Map Poster & Print
Al Qūşīyah lies in Asyut Governorate in Upper Egypt, within the narrow cultivated strip of the Nile valley. On a map, what defines the place is width, or rather the lack of it. Fields, canals and villages fill a band only a few kilometres across, and beyond it the land turns abruptly to desert on both sides.
The town lies near the ancient site of Cusae, a regional centre in pharaonic times. A short distance away is the Monastery of al-Muharraq, a major Coptic pilgrimage site that tradition links to the Holy Family's journey through Egypt. Both belong to a landscape that people have farmed and settled for thousands of years without interruption.
An Al Qūşīyah map poster shows the town as a dense cluster of streets among long fields and irrigation channels, all running roughly parallel to the river. The desert beyond is left as clean open space, which gives the finished print a strong, simple contrast between cultivated ground and emptiness.

Irrigation canals
Canals running parallel to the Nile carry water through the fields. They add long, gently curving lines that echo the direction of the river.
Al-Muharraq Monastery
The monastery near the town is one of Egypt's best-known Coptic sites and draws pilgrims every year. It is a walled compound at the edge of the desert.

Kwa nini Al Qūşīyah
Ramani yenye maana
For families from Asyut and for pilgrims who have visited the monastery, a map of Al Qūşīyah records a place where daily life and very old traditions share the same few kilometres of land between the river and the sand.
The title and subtitle can hold a name, a date or a short dedication, and the coordinates line is editable. Choose Sand for a warm tone or any of the other four styles, then download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster.
