Castle hilltop
The highest part of town gathers around the old castle precinct, where short, crooked lanes knot together and the street pattern is at its densest and least regular.

Baena Map Poster & Print
Baena sits in the south-east of Córdoba province, where the countryside rolls in long, low ridges planted almost entirely with olive trees. On a map the town reads as a compact knot on a slope: an upper quarter around the old castle site, narrow lanes that bend to follow the contours, and newer blocks spreading across gentler ground below. Beyond the last houses, rural tracks fan out into the groves.
People who cook know the name well beyond Andalusia. Baena gives its name to one of Spain's protected designations of origin for extra virgin olive oil, and the landscape on the map shows why. Field boundaries, farm roads and small watercourses make a fine, irregular mesh around the town. Once the colour is taken away, the pattern looks almost like woven cloth.
A Baena map poster keeps that contrast between the dense hilltop core and the open, patterned land around it. The town is also known for its Holy Week, when large companies of drummers fill the steep streets, and the tight old quarter is where that sound gathers. In black and white the slope, the lanes and the outlying roads settle into a calm, easy-to-read composition.

Contour-following streets
Streets below the old quarter bend with the slope rather than cutting straight across it, so the town plan curves in long arcs that show the terrain without any shading.
Olive-grove mesh
Around the edges, farm tracks and field lines break the countryside into small irregular parcels, a quiet texture that frames the built-up area on every side.

Kwa nini Baena
Ramani yenye maana
Baena suits people with a family link to the Córdoba countryside, anyone who buys its oil by name, or travellers who walked up to the castle and remember the view over the groves. The plan is small enough that every lane stays readable, even at larger sizes.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle with a date or a family name, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
